a clear, quiet island day

Yesterday we awoke to a blizzard. By noon we were watching Fin whale spouts piercing the horizon line from our living room. Then the sun came out and, for the very first time in the weeks and months I have spent here over the years, it was the perfect, almost unattainable mixture of fresh snow, sunshine, and no wind on our tiny island.

I went for a walk while it lasted and took some photographs.
(Disclaimer: the first 3 images and the final one in this post were taken the afternoon before down by the harbor on the other side of the island).
