Man, what a day!
Mystie and Garret's wedding was held up past Sutton at the Majestic Valley Lodge on Tanabata day (a Japanese star festival). Mystie explained this to me excitedly when asked why they had chose a Thursday. The two are artists, and seem part creative, part magic, part fairy. There was so many visual goodies surrounding the wedding--things that photographers eat up! The two, with great help from friends, made 1000 paper cranes that were hung, placed, crammed in various corners of the venue. One of my favorite moments of the day came during the ceremony when Garret leaned over, speaking his vows, and whispered a promise in Mystie's ear--one of the times I got chills. Then Mystie promised something to him that only they would know.
Also Garret shaved, pre-wedding, old school style, forged the rings himself, split his pants (literally) right after the ceremony, hand picked and then brewed an entire jug of Dandelion wine for friends to drink at the reception. The two of them made an EPIC wedding video loosely telling the story of Tanabata day which aired on a hung sheet at the wedding reception. Upon the final image, the two broke through the sheet and entered the room at the cheers of all their friends. They're so loved! I could go on. It's all in the photos. Epic dance floor, etc. You'll just have to watch the slide show.
Per usual, these still images are just some of my favorites from the day. But if you scroll down to the bottom of this post you can see their slide show. Click play and then pause it and give it a few minutes to load (and turn up your volume).
Enjoy!

Wow. What an amazing wedding! I love how you captured all the color, love, and grandeur. I love love! Enchanting!
