Nathalia and Bo!
They met while fishing wet flies on the Russian for sockeye salmon a few years back. First date, Alaska style! That sounds ideal.
Nathalia is one of the most organized brides I have ever worked with. She booked me a solid year and a half in advance instead of the typical year out. Their wedding was held at the beautiful, Raven Glacier Lodge in Girdwood--where tufts from the Cottonwood trees lining the stream out back floated through the northern, temperate rain forest, gracing the ceremony as it was underway.
That was one of my favorite moments of the day. Another was the piƱata that Nathalia, Bo, and the children took turns beating to shreds at the reception. Nathalia brought this in to represent her Mexican heritage. Oh, that and about a dozen family members from Mexico who had never flown on a plane, much less been to Alaska!
Nathalia & Bo make a great pair--big smiles, lovey eyes for each other and a love for being outside in Alaska. What a perfect celebration day to honor their union!
Below are some of my favorite single images from the day. Local Anchorage photographer Loren Holmes shot part of the afternoon with me and some of his images can be seen in the slide show. Scroll down to the bottom to see that. Click play and then pause it to allow it a minute to load!
