Meghan & Cameron - Long Island wedding!

EK8A5703

Last month, Meghan and Cameron were married in a beautiful, spanish style Catholic church at the far end of Long Island, New York. I was fortunate to be the photographer for the event, having photographed a wedding the previous summer in which Meghan was a bridesmaid.

It was a most exceptional wedding that night. Replete with big love, every family member on the dance floor, 2 bands, on a bluff overlooking a sea-shell lined beach, and a giant see-through tent with old tree silhouettes cast upon the tent ceiling as a deep orange sun sank behind them. And all of this set on the far end of Long Island in the backyard of a home from the turn of the 20th century --and featuring a handful of thick NY accents to boot. It was a photographer's paradise! And the muggy, east coast heat that day kept no one from having a good time. But I'll let the photographs illustrate the rest of it!

Here are a handful of my personal favorite images from the day--but be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this post to see a slide show from the entire day...

Cyndie & Michael -- Anchorage wedding!

611C6085

Cyndie and Mike were married in downtown Anchorage on a pretty little afternoon in June. I have to say, some of my favorite weddings are not big productions. That's part of what I loved about this wedding. The ceremony and reception were both held under a tent in their own backyard in downtown and a friend's business--Urban Greens, a great little downtown lunch spot--catered the reception, cooking up some pretty tasty fresh caught salmon. There was a wonderful gathering of friends and family and lots of kid moments (some of the most photogenic moments at weddings :) --in fact, there was a bean bag toss game set up for the kids (and adult kids too). Some good light even made an appearance in the evening as the sun cleared the cloud cover over town on its way to setting at the feet of Mount Susitna.

But I think my favorite moment of the day came when an ice cream truck showed up to deliver ice cream bars to an excited group of friends and family. But these weren't just any old ice cream bars. They were specialties--shipped all the way up from Cyndie's former home in Montana (best in the state, I understand). Something a lot of the guests could really appreciate.

As usual, I've posted a few of my favorite images from the day below. But scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post (and be sure to turn your volume up) to see a slide show of the whole day!
